District Description
Mid Valley School District is located in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania and serves students in the towns of Olyphant, Dickson City, and Throop. The district operates three schools: Mid Valley Elementary Center (K-5), Mid Valley Middle School (6-8) and Mid Valley Secondary Center (9-12). The district is targeting seventh and eighth grade Math and English Language Arts with its new blended learning program. The district is hoping the blended-learning program will better prepare students for the Keystone Exam in Algebra and will also reduce the need for future remediation in Algebra. The district has also targeted a group of students currently reading below grade level and hopes the ELA portion of the blended-learning program will improve student achievement.
