School Description
Mid Valley Middle School is a public school in Mid Valley School District that serves more than 400 students in grades 6 through 8 in Lackawanna County, Pa. The school has implemented blended learning in its 7th- and 8th-grade math and English language arts classes to better prepare students to pass Pennsylvania’s Keystone Exam in Algebra, and thus reduce the need for future remediation in Algebra beyond 9th grade, and to provide remediation for students reading below grade level. The district hopes to realize measurable individual student growth, engagement, and motivation as a result of a more student-centered approach to teaching and learning.
