District Description

Indiana Area School District is located in Indiana County and encompasses 82 square miles.  The district serves students from Indiana and Shelocta Boroughs and the surrounding White and Armstrong Townships. District schools include four K-5 elementary schools, one 6-8 junior high school and one 9-12 senior high school.

At the start of SY2013-14, Indiana Area School District implemented blended learning in two elementary schools, East Pike Elementary School and Ben Franklin Elementary School. The hope was that it would have a measurable improvement in student achievement on district and state assessments. As a result of blended learning, the district would like to have measurable individual student growth, engagement and motivation as a result of a more student-centered approach to learning.
