Daniel Stein is the Director of Medical and Clinical Services at Walmart. He also practices as a primary care physician at the Veterans Healthcare Systems of the Ozarks in Fayetteville, Arkansas. At Walmart, Daniel is working to offer affordable, convenient health care solutions for Walmart customers. Previously, Daniel worked on the health staff of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. In this capacity, he worked extensively on the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003, the Medicare prescription drug legislation, and medical malpractice reform. Daniel returned to the U.S. Senate Finance Committee in 2009 to help formulate reform proposals that helped form the foundation of the Affordable Care Act. Daniel also previously worked at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) where he focused on Medicare quality and pay-for-performance initiatives.

Daniel received his undergraduate degree in Ethics, Politics, and Economics from Yale College; his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine; and his MBA from the Harvard Business School. He completed his residency in primary care internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he was honored with the John H. McArthur Fellowship in Medicine and Management.
