Madison Park Academy is located in the East Oakland community and is one of eight Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) schools to be funded by the Rogers Foundation blended learning initiative. The school has also received a “school-to-home” grant to pay for hardware that supports the school’s transition to blended learning approaches. Program Model
Program model: Station Rotation
Program description
To ensure all students have access to devices both in the middle and high school levels, Madison Park issues high school students individual devices and equips blended classrooms with enough equipment to maintain a 1:1 ratio. Students rotate between time on computers–where they participate in a personalized learning track to reinforce concepts covered with the teacher–and time with the teacher. During offline time, students may work with peers on project-based group work or receive tailored instruction with the teacher.
