Last month marked the 10th anniversary of the Apple iPhone–one of the most influential consumer products of all time. In addition to creating the smartphone category, changing the way billions of people around the world communicate, transact and blow off steam every day, the iPhone embodies the point that Disruptive Innovation isn’t just about slick product design. It’s about competing differently to address a consumer need that competitors are ignoring. In healthcare, the great, unmet need is for solutions that help each of us live the longest, healthiest lives possible.

In this video, Rebecca Fogg explains what the iPhone can teach us about Disruptive Innovation in healthcare to audiences at the Imperial College London Business School’s 2017 innovation conference. Her blog on this topic is available here.

As a senior research fellow for the Christensen Institute, Rebecca’s research focuses on business model innovation in healthcare delivery, including new approaches to population health management and person-centered care.
